Job summary

YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Lifeguard at the Hendricks Regional Health Center YMCA in Avon, IN. The role focuses on maintaining a safe pool environment and responding to emergencies with CPR and First Aid as required by YMCA and American Heart Association guidelines.

Qualifications include being at least 16, holding a current lifeguard certification (YMCA/Red Cross/Ellis) with current First Aid and CPR Healthcare Provider, and the ability to swim 500 yards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must possess and maintain current YMCA Lifeguard certificate, American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate or Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Certificate, including current First Aid and CPR Healthcare Provider certifications.
• Must be able to pass basic lifeguard skills test, including swimming 500 yards.
• Must possess and have the ability to relate to and communicate with people of all ages, cultures, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lifeguard is responsible for providing a safe environment for all participants in and around the pool, including responding to emergencies.
• Administer CPR and First Aid effectively according to YMCA and American Heart Association guidelines.
