Qualifications

• Must have Lifeguard and CPR certifications.

Swim Instructors - Hilltop YMCA

As a Swim Instructor, you will serve as a role model and leader, demonstrating behaviors aligned with our cause-driven mission. Your responsibilities include:

1. Leading engaging, safe, and educational swim classes according to the progression outlined in the swim lesson skill level sheets.
2. Ensuring participant safety by educating about and enforcing safety rules, and maintaining control of the class environment.
3. Communicating openly with participants and their parents to support their goals related to healthy living, providing feedback on strengths, achievements, and areas for improvement.
4. Building authentic relationships with members, helping them connect with each other and the YMCA, including implementing 3 minutes of connection time in every class.
5. Keeping accurate attendance and skill evaluation records.
6. Following YMCA policies and procedures, responding appropriately to emergency situations, and participating in drills and safety procedures as trained.
