Summary:

Instruct students on water safety and swim techniques based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide swim instruction based on the curriculum
• Enforce safety rules; rescue and administer first aid when necessary
• Inspect pool areas for maintenance, cleanliness, or damage issues
• Evaluate students’ progress and complete paperwork promptly
• Participate in cross-training and substitute in multiple roles
• Act as a GSS ambassador to provide a positive experience for students, families, and team members

Job Qualifications and Skills:

• Ability to work well with children
• Preferred: prior leadership and teaching experience (supervisory roles)
• Problem-solving and creative thinking skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must pass background checks (provided during training)

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider required. Swimming experience is a plus.

Work Environment:

Exposed to heat and humidity; noise level is moderate.
