The City of El Paso is seeking part-time swim instructors to teach learn-to-swim and water exercise programs in a pool environment. Candidates must meet minimum age and instruction-experience requirements and hold ARC First Aid and CPR/AED certifications by hire, with WSI or equivalent certifications preferred.

Responsibilities include teaching classes, enforcing safety rules, assisting with pool maintenance, and supervising participants. This is a part-time role with variable class schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age by the time of hire.
• Must have at least eight hours of instruction experience in an aquatic environment.
• American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED certifications by the time of hire; ARC WSI or equivalent certifications by hire.

Responsabilités

• Teach learn-to-swim and water exercise programs; lead pool classes.
• Enforce pool safety rules and prevent injuries.
• Assist in maintenance tasks for pool systems and cleaning as needed.
• Monitor swimmers, rescue when necessary, and administer first aid in emergencies.
