A leading university is seeking a Swim Instructor to provide essential water safety and swimming lessons to individuals of all ages. This temporary position offers a flexible schedule and meets industry standards, including maintaining necessary certifications and attending in-service training sessions. Candidates must have a minimum of one-year experience teaching swim lessons or equivalent, with a preference for those possessing a high school diploma.

Purpose of Position
The Campus Recreation swim instructor position is established to teach people of all ages the importance of water safety and how to swim in a proper manner. This includes providing quality instruction for our group and private swim lesson programs and knowledge of teaching methods and course requirements outlined by the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program. Swim instructors must also maintain the proper certifications and physical fitness required by industry standards. All in-service training sessions and staff meetings are mandatory.
Primary Responsibilities
i. Provide quality instruction for our group and private swim lesson programs.
ii. Knowledge of teaching methods and course requirements outlined by the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program.
iii. Keep records of students and classes taught and report all certifications to the Coordinator of Aquatics.
Qualifications
i. Minimum of 1 year teaching swim lessons OR team teaching with another experienced instructor for at least 2-4 sessions.
ii. Any part time swim instructor has to have an active lifeguard certification.
