Job summary

Qualifications

• Plan and conduct swim lessons per YMCA curriculum.
• Teach stroke development and water safety to all ages and abilities.
• Adapt instruction to participant needs and progress.
• Maintain safe, inclusive learning environment and monitor participants.
• Record attendance, progress evaluations, and communicate with families.
• Attend classes, report absences, and ensure equipment is ready.
• Enforce pool rules and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct swim lessons per YMCA curriculum.
• Teach swimming techniques and water safety.
• Adapt instruction to individual needs and progress.
• Monitor participants for safety and inclusivity.
• Record attendance and progress evaluations.
• Communicate class updates with families.
• Prepare and store instructional equipment.
• Maintain a clean pool deck and safety compliance.
• Respond to emergencies and complete incident documentation.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Other duties as assigned to support Aquatics Department.
