Job summary

YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking an Instructor to lead safe and engaging swim lessons under the Program Coordinator, following YMCA safety guidelines. The position requires minimum age 18 and a passion for teaching youth and adults.

Schedule is Mon/Wed/Thu 9:30–10:45 a.m. Candidates should be able to swim per a test and possess current or soon-to-be certifications including First Aid/CPR and Lifeguard or Aquatic Safety.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• Experience leading group swim lessons preferred.
• Ability to swim as determined by a swim test.
• Demonstrates emotional maturity and judgment.
• Must obtain HCP within 90 days of employment; First Aid, Lifeguard or Aquatic Safety Assistant certifications within 90 days.
• Current Swim Lesson Certification (YMCA or ARC) or Water Exercise Certifications (YMCA, Arthritis Foundation, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and challenging Swim Lesson classes under the Program Coordinator.
• Follow YMCA safety guidelines and program standards.
