Job summary

YMCA in Stillwater, Oklahoma is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach swimming skills to all ages in a safe, supportive setting. You will design lessons, monitor progress, and reinforce water safety while upholding YMCA standards and safety rules.

Starting at $11.50 per hour, the role offers ongoing training, professional development, and a collaborative team atmosphere dedicated to healthy living and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Must be certified in CPR, AED, Oxygen, and First Aid.
• Must be 16+ years old and able to demonstrate swim instruction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience teaching swimming or water safety preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse ages and skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Conduct swimming lessons for children, teens, and adults of varying skill levels.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with YMCA standards and safety protocols.
• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to improve skills.
• Enforce safety rules and maintain a safe swimming environment at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and team members.
• Promote water safety awareness and YMCA programs to participants and families.
