Job summary

YMCA of Collier County | Naples is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach and lead swimming lessons, ensuring safety and positive participation for all ages. The role involves maintaining equipment, submitting records, and engaging with members and families in a supportive, inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will demonstrate water-skills expertise, strong communication, and the ability to meet diverse health and ability needs while adhering to YMCA policies.

Qualifications

• Professional swimming instruction and safety awareness.
• Ability to interact effectively with children and families.
• Ability to pass the deep-water swim test.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and evaluate students participating in swimming lessons.
• Responsible for the safety of participants in his/her own class.
• Begin and end class on time, remain after class to answer participant and/or parent questions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organize swim lesson equipment.
• Submit completed skill sheets, certificates, and attendance information on time.
• Maintains effective relationships with members, participants, and other staff.
• Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
