Job summary

British Swim School of Northwest Orlando is seeking a Part-Time Swim Instructor to teach swim lessons to children and adults, fostering confidence and water safety.

You will report to the Aquatics Manager, maintain certifications, and deliver lessons with engaging, safety-focused instruction in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard experience or certification preferred.
• CPR/AED certification required or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience coaching sports, teaching, or working with children is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques.
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain active throughout lessons.

Responsibilities

• Report to and support the Aquatics Manager and/or Director.
• Teach swim lessons according to British Swim School standards and maintain required certifications.
• Lead engaging lessons for swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
• Follow all safety protocols, including AED operation and emergency procedures.
• Communicate effectively with students and families while providing encouragement and feedback.
• Foster a positive, respectful learning environment.
• Collaborate with team members and assist with lesson planning.
• Maintain accurate attendance and student progress records.
• Work a flexible schedule Monday through Friday (2:30 PM to 8:00 PM) and Saturdays (8:30 AM to 2:30 PM).
• Participate in special events as needed.
• Be comfortable working in a moderate to high noise environment and remaining in the water throughout your shift.
