Job summary

British Swim School is hiring Swim Instructors in Jacksonville, FL to teach vital water survival skills to learners of all ages, especially young children. We provide full training and support, with flexible part-time hours and a stable year-round schedule.

You’ll work in an indoor heated pool environment, earn $16.00–$18.00 per hour, and receive paid training and certification opportunities. The role emphasizes safety, community impact, and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, or currently enrolled in high school.
• Capable of teaching Group, Semi‑Private, and Private Swim Lessons.
• Capable of evaluating swimmer's progress.
• Must maintain certifications throughout employment.
• Must complete training and testing.

Responsibilities

• Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
• Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
• Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3:30pm-7:30pm), weekends (9am-1pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
• Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and be in the water for the duration of the shift.
• Maintains order and safety in and around swimming areas. (applying Lifeguard safety principles)
• Provides a safe, clean and organized pool area.

Your Typical Responsibilities

• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics‑specific training and testing.
• Capable of teaching Group, Semi‑Private, and Private Swim Lessons.
• Capable of evaluating swimmer's progress

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Swimming experience: 1-2 years
• Customer service skills: 1 year preferred
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training)

Job Types: Part‑time / Year round

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 12 per week

The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.

We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool.
