Job summary

British Swim School - South Orlando is seeking a Part-Time Swim Instructor to teach engaging lessons to children and adults while ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment. You’ll be trained on our gentle, progressive program designed for students as young as 3 months old and follow a management-developed class schedule.

You’ll report to the Aquatics Manager, lead lessons, and maintain certifications, guiding swimmers of all ages while communicating with families and supporting lesson

Qualifications

• Lifeguard experience or certification preferred.
• CPR/AED certification required or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience coaching sports, teaching, or working with children is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques.
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain active throughout lessons.

Responsibilities

• Report to and support the Aquatics Manager and/or Director.
• Teach swim lessons according to British Swim School standards and maintain required certifications.
• Lead engaging lessons for swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
• Follow safety protocols, including AED operation and emergency procedures.
• Communicate effectively with students and families while providing encouragement and feedback.
• Foster a positive, respectful learning environment.
• Collaborate with team members and assist with lesson planning.
• Maintain attendance and student progress records.
• Work a flexible schedule Monday–Friday 2:30 PM–8:00 PM and Saturdays 8:30 AM–2:30 PM.
• Participate in special events as needed.
• Be comfortable working in a moderate to high noise environment and remaining in the water throughout your shift.

Part-Time Swim Instructor

Join our team as a Part-Time Swim Instructor and help build confident, safer swimmers. In this rewarding role, you'll teach engaging swim lessons to children and adults while creating a fun, supportive learning environment.

At British Swim School, you'll receive comprehensive training to teach our gentle, progressive swim program for students as young as 3 months old. You'll follow a class schedule developed by management and work closely with swimmers, parents, and fellow instructors.

Compensation
