Responsibilities

• Lead engaging and safe swimming lessons for children, teens, and adults, tailoring instruction to individual skill levels and learning styles
• Demonstrate proper swimming techniques, water safety skills, and sports coaching methods such as basketball or cheerleading when applicable
• Implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and disciplined class atmosphere
• Conduct assessments of students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed diligently, including lifeguard responsibilities when necessary
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other staff to support students’ development and address any concerns
• Maintain clean, organized facilities and equipment to promote a safe learning environment

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a lifeguard or in sports coaching, teaching, or martial arts such as Karate, Judo, or Climbing is highly desirable.
• Strong background in swimming instruction or physical education teaching with a passion for working with children and students of all ages.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques to foster respectful and focused classroom environments.
• Certifications in lifeguarding or water safety are preferred; willingness to obtain required certifications prior to start date is acceptable.
• Experience working in health clubs or gyms is a plus, especially those offering childcare services or group fitness classes.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage learners effectively.
