Job summary

City of Medford (Oregon) invites applicants for a Swim Instructor/Lifeguard to teach swim lessons, supervise open and lap swims, and assist with rentals and events. Successful candidates will help maintain a welcoming, safe environment and participate in ongoing safety training.

The role emphasizes water safety, customer service, and teamwork within Rogue X’s Aquatics program. Training provided if uncertified; salary is per-hour and part-time with diverse scheduling.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED equivalent or currently enrolled with on-track graduation.
• Must be 15 years or older at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts swim lesson classes for various ages and skill levels.
• Lifeguards during open swims, lap swims, rentals and events.
• Enforces safety regulations in a professional, friendly manner.
• Performs emergency care/treatment until EMS arrival.
• Performs hourly pool water chemical tests.
• Attends staff trainings and meetings.
