Job summary

YMCA of Natrona County in Casper is seeking a Swim Instructor to create a safe and welcoming environment for participants while instructing and motivating students in the pool. You will teach lessons according to the YMCA curriculum, build authentic relationships with students and parents, and help connect families to the broader YMCA programs, events and volunteers.

Qualifications

At least 15 years of age.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups.

Responsibilities

Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA training and curriculum.
Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.
Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.
Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).
Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedure, including emergency and safety procedures.
Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
Actively participates in department and branch meetings and/or trainings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
