Job summary

YMCA of the North Shore in Haverhill, MA is hiring part‑time Swim Instructors to join our Aquatics Team this fall. Teach lessons to children and adults, lead group and private sessions, and promote water safety in a supportive, fun environment.

No teaching experience? We provide training on the YMCA Swim Curriculum, shadowing, mentorship, and ongoing coaching. Must be at least 16 and hold or be willing to obtain Lifeguarding/Swim Instruction, CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Current certifications in Lifeguarding/Swim Instruction, Pro CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen preferred – or willing to obtain.
• Positive attitude, love of the water, and desire to make a difference!

Responsibilities

• Teach swim lessons to children and adults of all ages and abilities.
• Lead engaging group and private lessons using the YMCA Swim Curriculum.
• Promote water safety while helping participants build confidence and achieve their goals.
• Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.
• Celebrate each swimmer's progress and make every lesson fun and meaningful.
