Job summary

British Swim School of West Portland Suburbs is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor to teach lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months, using our progressive and gentle methods. You will receive extensive training to build confidence and work with swimmers of diverse abilities.

A strong emphasis on safety and survival swim techniques aligns with our mission to reduce drowning, with hours that fit around school and work commitments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or in the process of completion.
• Cheerful, fun and enthusiastic personality.
• Available to work on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays (for sure) and one other day as needed.
• Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
• Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.

Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons per British Swim School training and program standards, maintaining certifications throughout employment.
• Reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s).
• Minimum 14 hours of work per week that may include evenings on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
