City of Morgan Hill is seeking Swim Instructors for year-round, part-time work. Compensation includes hourly rates of $18.00 for high school students, $19.50 for graduates, and $20.00 with WSI certification. Positions are non-benefited and non-permanent.

Instructors lead classes for all ages, from infants to adults, with private and group options. Schedule includes Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday evenings; training emphasizes safety and learning in a structured, supportive environment.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED is desirable.
• Experience as Swim Instructor or Lifeguard desirable.
• Red Cross WSI certificate desirable; Lifeguard Training, First Aid & CPR certificates encouraged.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and execute well-structured lesson plans with swimming techniques and water safety.
• Adapt teaching to the age, experience, and ability of participants.
• Perform equipment checks and ensure appropriate equipment is available.
• Maintain constant supervision of all participants during instruction.
• Evaluate students and submit a report card to Supervisor in a timely fashion.
• Communicate progress to supervisor, staff and participants; inform parents when appropriate.
• Perform rescues, administer first aid, CPR, and summon emergency personnel as required.
• Ensure safety of all patrons; submit Accident/Incident Reports within 24 hours.
