Job summary

Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation District is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor to lead and teach swim lessons across varied afternoon/evening/weekend slots. No prior teaching experience required; full training is provided on curriculum and class expectations.

Applicants must be at least 15, be comfortable in the water, and show reliability and strong communication with children, parents, and staff. The role offers a supportive team and opportunities for additional scheduling outside regular

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Ability to swim and be comfortable around water.
• Able to work consistently through the duration of swim lesson sessions (2–4 weeks).
• Strong reliability, punctuality and communication skills.
• Able to work well with children, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and instruct assigned swim lesson classes.
• Prepare for lessons and follow the curriculum guidelines.
• Supervise participants at all times to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Complete student evaluations/report cards at the end of each session.
• Communicate positively and professionally with participants, parents, and staff.
• Attend required staff trainings and meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Comply with District and departmental policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
