Job summary

Protea Swim is seeking a dedicated Swim Instructor to teach high-quality in-water lessons for children, including those as young as 18 months, and to travel between pools in Mill Valley, Tiburon, and Corte Madera.

You will join a family-run company built on trust, care, and community, with opportunities to take on more responsibility as the program grows. Weekend availability is required, and compensation ranges from $36 to $48 per hour with training support.

Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross lifeguarding, CPR AED for Professional Rescuer, and First Aid certifications are required.
• Water Safety Instructor certification is preferred.
• At least one year of swim instruction or lifeguarding experience is required.
• Strong communication skills with young children and families are essential.

Responsibilities

• Teach child-focused, in-water lessons for children as young as 18 months, plus semi-private and small group formats.
• Serve as an ambassador for Protea Swim Company, upholding professionalism, care, safety and community.
• Create a safe, positive, and professional lesson environment.
• Follow Protea teaching progressions and promote water safety and confidence.
