PAY RATE: $12.00/hr

The Swim Instructor is responsible for ensuring safety in and around the pool area and providing high-quality swimming instruction following YMCA Aquatic Program guidelines. To succeed as a swim instructor, you should demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and the ability to motivate students to achieve their swimming goals. An exceptional swim instructor communicates effectively with students and ensures adherence to all water safety rules.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the safety of all participants.
2. Follow YMCA national guidelines for all swim lessons.
3. Evaluate students' performance, provide feedback, and complete attendance, progress, and accident reports. Ensure all swimming aids and equipment are in good working order.
4. Prepare and follow lesson plans for each session.
5. Clean and store teaching equipment properly.
6. Assist lifeguard on duty with any emergency situations in the aquatic area.
