Job summary

A local swim school in Orchard Park is looking for energetic Swim Instructors to join their team. The role involves teaching children aged 4 months to 12 years in a fun, safe environment. No prior experience is needed as training will be provided. The school offers a positive team culture with opportunities for career advancement. Ideal candidates will have a passion for working with kids and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of swim lesson students at all times.
• Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Interact with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills.
• Interacts with parents/guardians to discuss activities and progress.
• Maintains pool areas and equipment; reports issues to management as appropriate.
• Attend required/mandatory training and workshops; cross-train as needed.

Goldfish Swim School is Looking for FUN, ENERGETIC individuals who like to splash and play in the pool!

We provide the training so no previous instructor experience is required. You just need to LOVE working with children and the water!!

Swim Instructors teach students ranging in ages 4 months - 12 years in a 90 degree pool!

General Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation

• Treat every student fairly and equally regardless of circumstances and abilities, making each feel good about themselves and encouraging a fun environment.
• Arrive with ample time to report to position at the scheduled time.
• Be responsible and fulfill your commitments to scheduled shifts.
• Ensure the safety of swim lesson students at all times.
• Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Evaluates students progress, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Interacts with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills. Acts as a GFSS “ambassador” to ensure parental satisfaction.
• Uses problem solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
• Inspects pool areas before and after each class for possible maintenance, cleanliness or damage issues. Reports issues to management as appropriate.
• Maintains and ensures proper storage of all pool equipment. Places and removes lane lines.
• Performs light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion.
• Attend required/mandatory training, workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours.
• Assume other responsibilities as given by a supervisor. Willingness to cross train as needed
