Job summary

The Tuckahoe Family YMCA in Richmond, VA is seeking part-time swim instructors to lead lessons for program participants at our pool.

You should be enthusiastic and energetic with strong interpersonal skills and be able to work a variety of shifts for different age groups, teaching swimming skills, water safety, and YMCA core values.

CPR/AED/First Aid are required, and lifeguard or swim instructor certifications are preferred but not necessary; we will certify you if needed.

Qualifications

• Swim instructors must have current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
• Current YMCA, American Red Cross Lifeguard, or Ellis and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications are preferred but not necessary.
• If not currently certified, we will certify you!

Responsibilities

• Lead swim lessons for program participants at our pool.
• Teach swimming skills, basic water safety, and YMCA core values to small groups.
• Work a variety of shifts with participants of different ages.

The Tuckahoe Family YMCA is seeking part time swim instructors to lead swim lessons for program participants at our pool! The pay range for this position is $13-$17 per hour based on experience & qualifications.

DUTIES for Swim Instructors

• Swim Instructors should be enthusiastic and energetic, with strong interpersonal skills.
• We are looking for swim instructors who can work a variety of shifts with a variety of ages.
• Using a variety of tools and teaching techniques, swim instructors will work with small groups of students teaching swimming skills, basic water safety, and the YMCA core values.

QUALIFICATIONS for Swim Instructors

• Swim instructors must have current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
• Current YMCA, American Red Cross Lifeguard, or Ellis and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications are preferred but not necessary.
• If not currently certified, we will certify you!
