Job summary

Aquasafe-Swim-Programs-Inc. is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor to provide quality lessons in a Providence-area facility. You will wear the instructor shirt, maintain safety standards, and deliver well-planned classes.

You will evaluate swimmer levels, communicate with participants and parents, and keep accurate records while adhering to AquaSafe procedures and attending trainings. Fridays 3–6pm, Saturdays 8–11am.

Qualifications

• Maintain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
• Maintain instructor certifications for assigned classes.

Responsibilities

• Wear appropriate aquatic attire and maintain identifiable instructor shirt.
• Provide friendly, courteous, safe service to all members, clients, and volunteers of the program.
• Prepare lesson plans for assigned classes.
• Instruct assigned classes.
• Maintain communication with class participants and parents.
• Explain class and pool procedures to program participants.
• Evaluate swimming levels and prepare certificates.
• Attend all staff meetings and trainings.
• Maintain updated certifications as required by AquaSafe
• Keep accurate attendance and class records.
• Distribute and collect parent evaluations at assigned times with results given to supervisor.
• Actively promote programs.
• Establish and maintain supervision of pool area and swimmers.
• Enforce pool rules to staff and all swimmers.
• Keep accurate air and water test records.
• Check all equipment, reporting any problems in writing to supervisor.
• Properly open and close pool as scheduled.
• Security and safety of pool area never leaving area unattended or unlocked.
• Cleanliness of pool areas during assigned hours, ensuring pool area is neat and clean at all times, reporting all problems in writing to supervisor.

Job description

Under the supervision of the supervisor, the Swim Instructor is responsible for providing quality swim lessons adhering to AquaSafe standards.This position requires the ability to demonstrate swimming skills, make sound judgments, and communicate effectively.The Swim Instructor will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the the regulating agency.

  suit.
• Provide friendly, courteous, safe service to all members, clients, and volunteers of the program
