Job summary

AquaSafe-Swim-Programs-Inc. is seeking a dedicated Swim Instructor in Massachusetts to deliver quality swim lessons in line with AquaSafe standards.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
• Maintain instructor certifications for assigned classes.
• AquaSafe certification standards must be upheld.

Responsibilities

• Wear identifiable instructor attire and provide friendly service to members and volunteers.
• Prepare lesson plans for assigned classes.
• Instruct assigned classes as scheduled.
• Maintain communication with participants and parents.
• Explain pool procedures and safety rules to participants.
• Evaluate swimming levels and prepare certificates.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; keep certifications current.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the supervisor, the Swim Instructor is responsible for providing quality swim lessons adhering to AquaSafe standards.This position requires the ability to demonstrate swimming skills, make sound judgments, and communicate effectively.The Swim Instructor will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the regulating agency.

JOB FUNCTION:

PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBLILTIES:

• -Wear appropriate aquatic attire including identifiable instructor shirt and bathing suit.
• -Provide friendly, courteous, safe service to all members, clients, and volunteers of the program
• -Prepare lesson plans for assigned classes.
• -Instruct assigned classes.
• -Maintain communication with class participants and parents.
• -Explain class and pool procedures to program participants.
• -Evaluate swimming levels and prepare certificates.
• -Attend all staff meetings and trainings.
• -Maintain updated certifications as required by AquaSafe
• -Keep accurate attendance and class records.
• -Distribute and collect parent evaluations at assigned times with results given tosupervisor.
• -Actively promote programs.

SUPERVISION OF PERSONNEL:

• -Establish and maintain supervision of pool area and swimmers.
• -Enforce pool rules to staff and all swimmers.

FACILITY/HOUSEKEEPING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• -Keep accurate air and water test records (if appicable.)
• -Check all equipment, reporting any problems in writing to supervisor.
• -Properly open and close pool as scheduled.
• -Security and safety of pool area never leaving area unattended or unlocked.
• -Cleanliness of pool areas during assigned hours, ensuring pool area is neat andclean at all times, reporting all problems in writing to supervisor.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• -Maintain certification in: CPR, First Aid, AED.
• -Must maintain instructor certifications for assigned classes.
