Job summary

Goldfish is hiring a part-time Swim Instructor in Overland Park/Lenexa to teach water safety and swimming techniques. You’ll use the Goldfish Curriculum to create a fun, supportive environment where students feel celebrated and motivated.

You’ll work a consistent weekly schedule with paid training, flexible hours, and opportunities to grow. Compensation starts at $14+ per hour, with negotiable rates for experienced candidates; you’ll report to the Assistant General Managers.

Qualifications

• A genuine love for working with kids is essential.
• Reliability and dedication are key to our team.
• Ensure you can make it to shifts consistently.
• Minimum commitment of at least 4 months.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and Coach: Teach swimming techniques with a focus on safety and skill development, keeping lessons engaging and enjoyable.
• Assess and Adapt: Evaluate each student’s progress and tailor your teaching methods to fit their unique needs.
• Create a Safe Environment: Keep an eye on participants to ensure everyone is safe and having fun during lessons.
• Collaborate with Colleagues: Team up with fellow instructors to enhance our programs and share your ideas for improvement.
• Provide Feedback: Engage with students and parents, offering insights on performance and areas for growth.
• Assist with Lifeguarding Duties: Be proactive in maintaining safety across the facility as needed.

Who Will You Report To?

You’ll be guided and supported by our fantastic Assistant General Managers: David Hoelting, Catherine Buist, and Alex Randall.

Compensation

Competitive pay of $14+/hour, with negotiable rates for highly experienced candidates.
