About the JCC

The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) is seeking enthusiastic, attentive, and outgoing swim instructors for our indoor pool in Whitefish Bay. These are part-time positions with weekday and weekend hours:

• Saturday: 9am-12pm
• Sunday: 9am-12pm & 1pm-3pm
• Monday-Thursday: 4pm-6pm

The JCC is a non-profit social services agency founded on Jewish ethics and values, committed to meeting the community's diverse needs through social, educational, recreational, and cultural programs across five facilities in Wisconsin.

Position Summary

• Teach age- and level-appropriate skills to individuals of all ages and abilities.
• Communicate regularly with supervisor and team members.
• Attend all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
• Promote aquatic programming.
• Track attendance and progress, and complete necessary paperwork during lessons.
• Uniform requirement: swimsuit.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to maintain positive relationships with staff, volunteers, members, and the public.
• Effective working independently and in teams.
• Interest in working with children, adults, and teens, with emotional maturity, good character, judgment, professionalism, integrity, and leadership skills.

Education and Experience

• Must be 16 years or older.
• One year of instruction experience preferred.
• Previous swimming background preferred.
• Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR Pro/First Aid, or Swim Instruction preferred.
