Qualifications

• Ability to work with children
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Must pass background examination
• Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider is a plus

Certificates and Licenses

Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification courses are available for staff in our facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
• Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
• Evaluate students' progress and complete required paperwork
• Interact with parents/guardians regarding students' swim activities and development
• Act as a GSS "ambassador" to ensure parental satisfaction
• Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to address challenges students encounter
• Inspect pool areas before and after classes for maintenance, cleanliness, or damage issues
• Report issues to management as appropriate
• Maintain proper storage of all pool equipment
• Manage lane lines and report accidents or incidents
• Complete required documentation and perform Deck Teacher duties as needed
• Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, and trash removal
• Attend mandatory workshops and in-service training outside regular hours
• Fulfills other duties as assigned by the employer
