Job summary

Life Time is hiring an Aquatics Swim Instructor to teach both adults and children, evaluate swim levels, and maintain a safe pool environment. You will lead lessons and events, answer member questions, and promote Aquatics programs.

The role requires Lifeguard certifications, BLS CPR, and First Aid, with ongoing Life Time course completion. Candidates should be able to swim 25 yards and lift light weights as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Working towards a High School Diploma or GED.
• Pass Life Time courses upon hire.
• Ability to work in a stationary position and move around the club for prolonged periods.
• Ability to communicate with guests about Life Time products and services.
• Swim 25 yards/meters without stopping.
• Ability to bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally more than 20 lbs.
• StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid certification (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.

As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. You will teach life skills to our youngest members and evaluate their swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Education: Working towards a High School Diploma or GED
• Years of Experience: Successfully complete and pass all Life Time courses upon hire
• Years of Experience: Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Years of Experience: Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Years of Experience: Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
• Years of Experience: Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs
• Licenses / Certifications / Registrations: StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.

Preferred Qualifications

• Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience
