Job summary

Life Time is seeking an Aquatics Swim Instructor to teach lessons for both adults and children, assess swim levels, and promote Aquatics programs. You will help maintain a clean, safe pool environment and support Lifeguard duties as needed.

The role emphasizes customer interaction and program enrollment, requiring Lifeguard/CPR certifications or bridge within the first year.

Qualifications

• Working towards a High School Diploma or GED.
• Successfully complete Life Time courses upon hire.
• Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods.
• Ability to communicate with guests about Life Time products and services.
• Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs repeatedly.
• Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certifications required or bridgeable within 1 year.

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. You will teach life skills to our youngest members and evaluate their swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons and Aquatics events
• Responds to member questions, comments, and concerns
• Provides a safe, clean and organized pool area
• Promotes and sells all Aquatics programs and services

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Education: Working towards a High School Diploma or GED
• Years of Experience: Successfully complete and pass all Life Time courses upon hire
• Years of Experience: Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
• Years of Experience: Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
• Years of Experience: Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
• Years of Experience: Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs
• Licenses / Certifications / Registrations: StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within 1st year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR C.

Preferred Qualifications

• Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience
