Job summary

Derry Township Parks and Recreation is seeking Swim Instructors for the Community Center. The instructor plans, organizes, and executes lesson plans and communicates descriptively with participants of all ages.

The role maintains a safe teaching environment with a 1:4 or 1:6 instructor/student ratio based on ability, under the supervision of the Aquatics Specialist, and requires evening, daytime, and weekend availability with clearance requirements before starting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience preferred, but not necessary.
• Clearances and certifications must be obtained prior to the beginning of employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and execute swim lesson plans.
• Communicate descriptively and effectively with participants of all ages.
• Maintain a safe teaching environment and appropriate instructor/student ratio (1:4 or 1:6).
• Ensure overall health, safety, instruction and enjoyment of lesson participants.

Job description

The Derry Township Parks and Recreation is looking to hire Swim Instructors for the Derry Township Community Center. The Swim Instructor plans, organizes, and executes lesson plans, communicates descriptively and effectively with all ages, maintains a safe teaching environment, is comfortable with an instructor/student ratio of 1:4 or 1:6 based on ability level, and provides for the overall general health, safety, instruction, and enjoyment of lesson participants. The position works under the supervision of the Aquatics Specialist.

Looking for candidates with evening, daytime, and/or weekend availability. Flexibility is a plus!

Previous experience preferred, but not necessary.

Clearances and certifications must be obtained prior to the beginning of employment.
