Job summary

ACAC Greenville is seeking a proactive Swim Instructor to teach lessons for children and adults in a dynamic, customer-focused club environment. You will deliver progressive instruction, uphold safety standards, and help maintain a high-energy, welcoming community.

Ideal candidates enjoy flexible scheduling, have a background in aquatics teaching or coaching, and demonstrate strong communication with both members and teammates.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Certified Starfish Swimming Instructor (or equivalent).
• Prior aquatics teaching or coaching experience preferred.
• Superior customer service skills; ability to work with both children and adults.

Description

Do you enjoy changing the lives of others who enjoy swimming or who are eager to learn? The Swim Instructor's primary duty is to teach swim lessons to children and adults!

The ideal candidate will enjoy performing the following

• Teaching progressive swim lessons
• Creating and fostering a team culture that is centered on achieving goals with high levels of customer service and professionalism
• Communicating effectively with team members and members
• Maintaining a safe environment at all times as well as familiarity with acac programs to inform members with questions or updates

Requirements

Physical demands

• Must be able to actively participate in swim lessons using repetitive arm and leg motions
• Must be able to swim in both deep and shallow water
• Must be able to work in an often warm and humid environment with heightened noise
• Must be able to work in both warm water and cool water pools
• Ability to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Required competencies, education, and experience

• Certified Starfish Swimming Instructor (or equivalent)
• Certified Lifeguard (If under the age of 16)
• High School diploma preferred
• Prior aquatics teaching or coaching experience preferred
• Superior customer service skills; ability to work with both children and adults
• Ability to be creative in finding the best teaching methods to accommodate different populations
• Must be at least 15 years old

Company expectations

• Read, sign, and abide by the policies included in the Team Member Handbook
• Park in team member designated areas
• Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep club neat and clean
• Attend mandatory Personal Training meetings
• Assist with Service Days, as assigned by Supervisor
• Assist with club programs, special events, or activities, as assigned by Supervisor
• Promptly respond to work-related correspondence
• Exhibit a positive attitude at all timesDeliver outstanding service to members and guests, following acac’s Five*Star principles
