Job summary

acac is hiring a lifeguard to join our pool team in Crozet, VA. This role emphasizes safety, a professional presence on the stand, and attentive member service.

You will respond to emergencies, assist with lane allocations, and perform daily water chemistry readings and cleaning tasks. Must be at least 15, have current lifeguard and CPR/AED/First Aid certs, and ideally Red Cross Lifeguard certification.

Qualifications

• Prior lifeguarding experience preferred.
• Current Lifeguard, CPR, AED and first aid certifications.
• RedCross Lifeguard certification preferred.
• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Superior customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain alert, professional appearance on the lifeguard stand at all times.
• Respond to emergencies using rescue techniques and equipment.
• Assist members in lane allocations as needed.
• Complete daily water chemistry readings & daily cleaning tasks.
• Deliver friendly, high-energy service to members and guests.

• Sustaining an alert and professional appearance on the lifeguard stand at all times
• Responding to emergencies using rescue techniques and equipment
• Taking the initiative to assist members in lane allocation
• Completing daily water chemistry readings & daily cleaning tasks

Requirements

Required competencies, education, and experience

• Prior lifeguarding experience preferred
• Current Lifeguard, CPR, AED and first aid certifications
• RedCross Lifeguard certification preferred
• Must be at least 15 years old
• Superior customer service skills

Physical demands

• Must be able to stand, walk, and sit throughout a shift
• Must be able to successfully pass lifeguard certification requirements at all times
• Must be able to successfully perform rescue skills during in-service training
• Ability to successfully demonstrate proper rescue techniques using use of rescue equipment
• Must be able to work in an often warm and humid environment with heightened noise
• Ability to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
