Job summary

Village of Niles is hiring a part-time Swim Instructor to deliver attentive instruction for swim classes across all skill levels, reporting to the Aquatics Coordinator. Safety is the top priority in every lesson.

Candidates must have the WSI course, current CPR and First Aid certifications, be at least 17, and bring teaching experience with water safety knowledge. The role includes up to 7 hours per week and potential for private lessons, with paid leave and a Niles Fitness Center Membership.

Qualifications

• Complete Water Safety Instructor (WSI) course.
• Hold current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Be at least 17 years of age.
• Bring prior teaching experience with water safety knowledge.
• Demonstrate ability to enforce pool rules and work with the public and staff.
• Maintain good physical condition and a dependable, alert, enthusiastic approach.
• Capable of sitting and standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous, attentive swim instruction to classes at every skill level.
• Prioritize safety and proper water practices during lessons.
• Enforce pool rules and interact professionally with students and staff.

We are hiring! Join our team and become our new part-time SWIM INSTRUCTOR. Reporting to the Aquatics Coordinator, the Swim Instructor provides continuous, attentive instruction to swim classes at every skill level, taking every precaution to keep students safe in the water.

Qualified candidates should…

• Successfully complete the Water Safety Instructor (WSI) course.

• Be at least 17 years of age.

• Demonstrate the ability to enforce pool rules and work effectively with the public and staff.

• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay, benefits, and more…

• $20.15 to $26.19 per hour, depending on qualifications.
