SafeSplash Swim School in Arlington and Grand Prairie, TX is hiring for safe, dedicated, mature, responsible, and consistent individuals for the role of Swim Instructors. We are specifically looking for individuals who will be dedicated to teaching Special Needs swimmers.

Starting Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00 - Based on experience - 20+ hours a week.

We seek mature, exceptional individuals with experience as aquatics therapists, especially those who have worked with injured and special needs individuals of varying ages. The ideal candidate must be reliable, trainable, a self-starter, possess problem-solving skills, and be capable of adhering to a schedule. A competent swimmer who is passionate about working with children in swimming is essential.

We are a drug-free workplace, conducting pre-hiring and annual drug tests, along with criminal background checks.

As a Swim Instructor, your responsibilities include teaching life-saving swimming skills in accordance with the SafeSplash curriculum in a fun and safe environment, supervising classes with students ranging from infants to adults, and varying class sizes from 3 to 4 students. You will evaluate student performance, provide feedback to parents, and maintain safety standards and equipment.

The role also involves teaching and assisting students with special needs to learn and socialize through swimming. Patience, enthusiasm, effective communication, and the ability to motivate students are key to success. You should also be capable of establishing strong partnerships with parents and teaching all levels within the program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach swimming skills according to the curriculum and stay updated on changes and certifications.
  • Plan lessons based on students' abilities and development.
  • Manage class times to ensure punctuality.
  • Provide feedback on student progress and create lasting relationships with students and parents.
  • Correct swimming techniques and ensure safety at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records in the system and attend ongoing training.
  • Adhere to uniform and safety policies.
Key Requirements
  • Strong swimming abilities and demonstration of swimming strokes.
  • Consistent work schedule including afternoons, evenings, and Saturday mornings.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety Instructor certifications required within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience working with children, especially with special needs, preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Job Conditions
  • Constant movement in water and on deck.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Setting up and breaking down equipment, light cleaning duties.
