Job summary

State Street is seeking an experienced SWIFT Payments professional to support and enhance payment applications, ensuring secure, timely processing of financial transactions. You will design and support SWIFT-based solutions, work with MT and ISO 20022 messages, and handle wire and cross-border payments within a collaborative, regulated environment.

The role emphasizes analysis of failures and reconciliation, coordination with multiple technology teams, and maintaining up-to-date documentation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in banking/financial services payments.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of SWIFT payment messaging.
• Experience with SWIFT MT messages and ISO 20022 MX messages.
• Understanding of payment processing lifecycle from initiation to reconciliation.
• Experience with SWIFT Alliance / Alliance Access / Alliance Gateway or similar SWIFT infrastructure.
• Knowledge of ISO 20022, payment modernization, and MT to MX migration.
• Strong understanding of wire payments and cross-border payment processing.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and support SWIFT payment processing solutions.
• Work with SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX messages, including payment types.
• Support wire transfers, cross-border payments, ACH, and securities-related payments.
• Analyze failures, exceptions, and reconciliation issues and resolve them promptly.
• Collaborate with business analysts, payment operations, QA, and infrastructure teams.
• Perform requirements analysis, enhancements, testing, and production support.
• Monitor payment processing and investigate transaction-level issues.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
