Job summary

Heartland Food Products Group seeks a Production Operator for our Indianapolis, IN manufacturing plant. This on-site role supports sweeteners production with 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm) and 3rd shift (10pm-6:30am). You will operate equipment, read job orders, document processes, and maintain safety and food safety standards.

Requirements: high school diploma, ability to understand English, strong teamwork and communication skills, good attendance. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes safety and follows all safety guidelines.
• Inspects products for defects and measures products to verify machine operation.
• Observes machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions and adjusts within tolerances.
• Reads job orders to determine product specifications and plan sequences.
• Positions, loads, and secures stock material for production.
• Performs minor electrical and mechanical adjustments and notifies maintenance for major service.
• Starts up and shuts down manufacturing equipment per SOPs.
• Maintains accurate and neat documentation for records.
• Follows SQF food safety and GMP guidelines.
• Demonstrates problem-solving and initiative.
• Complies with all food manufacturing and safety regulations.
• Maintains positive working relationships with coworkers and supervisors.
• All other duties as assigned.
