Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, IA seeks a qualified Medical Interpreter to provide interpretation for non-English speaking patients, families and staff. The role reports to the Director of Customer Relations and requires cultural familiarity, bilingual proficiency, and strong communication skills.

The position offers full-time benefits including retirement plans, education assistance, health insurance and PTO, with a typical day from 8:00a to 4:30p.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Bi-lingual in specified language(s) with medical terminology or experience.
• Familiarity with the culture involved in patient care.
• Flexibility for unplanned hours and varying shifts as needed.
• Pass a Medical Language Proficiency test.

Responsabilidades

• Provide interpretation services for non-English speaking patients and visitors and medical staff.
• Maintain professional communication and adhere to hospital policies.
• Adapt to workload changes and possible shift/overtime as required.
