Job summary

Perry Township School District is seeking an ELL Tutor Interpreters - Swahili to support English language learners at Southport High School. The role assists in assessments and classroom tasks while serving as a resource to staff working with non-English-speaking students.

Under supervision of the EL Teacher of Record and administrators, you will communicate with students, parents and staff, maintain EL files, and support a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Bi-lingual in Swahili.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Desire to work with children of many cultures.
• Prior translator experience preferred.
• Knowledge of grammar and punctuation in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instruction of EL students in various settings.
• Keep school and district office updated with current EL information.
• Assist with EL files.
• Work under the supervision of EL Teacher of Record and building administration.
• Communicate regularly with EL teacher and administrators.
• Communicate with parents, as directed by EL teacher and/or administrator.
