Job summary

The Washington State Attorney General’s Office seeks an experienced attorney to lead a trial team in the Bob Keppel Criminal Justice Division, supervising 3–4 attorneys in the SVP Unit and handling a reduced SVP caseload.

Responsibilities include managing attorney performance, mentoring trial attorneys, and coordinating complex litigation across state and federal courts. Travel statewide for trial preparation is required.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of trial experience and WA bar admission.
• Experience litigating SVP cases is preferred.
• Strong writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to coordinate complex litigation and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a trial team of 3–4 attorneys handling SVP cases.
• Report to SVP Section Chief and mentor less-experienced attorneys.
• Coordinate trial preparation, discovery, and appellate work as needed.
• Travel statewide for trial preparation and hearings.
