Job summary

Cognia, a nonprofit education leader, seeks a SVP of Curriculum to drive strategy and execution of high-quality instructional materials and aligned assessments.

You will build an integrated curriculum-assessment ecosystem spanning ELA, math, science, and beyond, leading design, quality, and product innovation while partnering with large-scale assessment teams to deliver evidence-based solutions for districts and schools.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of direct experience in an education-related organization developing high-quality instructional materials
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience at the senior management level leading, supporting and developing K-12 curriculum and related services
• 5+ years’ experience managing and building teams
• Broad political and technical understanding of current curriculum and assessment trends and practices as well as proven ability to interact with colleagues, clients and stakeholders in the field on substantive issues
• Track record of thought leadership, strategic partnerships, and needs-based solution design
• Deep knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and K-12 market trends
• Demonstrated pedagogical expertise
• Master's degree in education or related field (doctorate preferred)

Reporting to the Chief Curriculum & Assessment Officer, the SVP of Curriculum is Cognia's senior curriculum leader, responsible for the strategy and execution of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) and aligned non-summative assessments. This role builds an integrated curriculum-assessment ecosystem, starting with ELA and expanding into math, science, and beyond.

As a member of the Curriculum & Assessment Services Leadership Team, the SVP leads curriculum design, instructional quality, and product innovation—partnering closely with the Largescale Assessment, Measurement, and Lab teams to drive coherent, evidence-based solutions for districts and schools. The SVP also serves as a national thought leader, representing Cognia with clients, partners, and policymakers to grow the organization's market position.
