The SVP, Marketing Data Science is a senior role within the Media Sciences team, reporting to the Head of Media Science. The role focuses on advanced analytics on clean‑room data, marketing analytics, audience analytics, creative analysis, consumer journey, attribution, and scenario planning to optimize marketing spend and drive business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Analytics: Design, develop, and implement advanced statistical and machine learning models to analyze marketing effectiveness, cross‑channel attribution, audience analytics, and user journey analytics.
- Hands‑On Implementation: Leverage multiple analytical approaches, tools, and techniques, working on multiple data sources (media channel data, acquisitions data, revenue data, digital data), A/B testing, and incrementality studies that address business questions.
- Predictive Analytics: Forecast marketing outcomes, identify optimal spending levels, and inform budget allocation decisions.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the marketing advanced analytics roadmap, align with overall business objectives and marketing strategies, and provide thought leadership in applying data science to marketing challenges.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and manage a team of data scientists, fostering professional growth and technical capabilities, and guide them in developing appropriate data‑driven solutions.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex analytical concepts and data‑driven insights clearly to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and cross‑functional partners.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the end‑to‑end model development lifecycle from data collection and preprocessing to model building, validation, and deployment; experience in commercialization and go‑to‑market for analytics projects is a plus.
- Accountability: Ensure the team adheres to best practices in data science, model governance, and ethical data usage, and deliver models on time.
- Thought Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert in analytics, drive ideation on analytical projects, and present actionable recommendations to influence strategic marketing decisions.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience within media measurement and analytics, preferably in financial services, client side, agency side, or publisher side.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R, and experience with relevant data science libraries and frameworks.
- Experience with big data technologies, cloud platforms, and data visualization tools (SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Dataiku).
- Hands‑on experience working with complex structured and unstructured marketing data; leading predictive modeling using machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks across multiple projects.
- Strong understanding of core AI/ML concepts such as RNN, LSTMs, LLMs, and NLP, with the ability to identify the optimal solution for a business case.
- Ability to independently own and project‑manage workstreams involving multiple stakeholders, demonstrating accountability, decisiveness, and strong work ethic.
- Readiness for hands‑on involvement in measurement, identifying roadblocks, hypothesis-driven, and curious.
- Process‑oriented and organized, delivering high‑quality work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment across teams.
- Extensive experience working closely with legal, compliance, and procurement teams on technology contracting and approvals in a highly regulated environment.
- Tools and Platforms:
- Proficient in Python / R, Hive / SQL.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.
- Good to have: experience on Gen AI platforms and tools.
- Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, or Statistics; advanced degree preferred.
Benefits and Salary
Compensation includes a base salary ranging from $163,600.00 to $245,400.00, along with discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards. Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) plan; life, accident, and disability insurance; wellness programs; and paid time off packages (vacation, sick leave, paid holidays). Other benefits may vary by jurisdiction, job level, and date of hire.
