Job summary

Symetra seeks a visionary SVP, Senior Actuary for the Individual Life Division to shape financial strategy, drive growth, and modernize actuarial capabilities. Reporting to the Chief Actuary, you will partner with executive leadership to translate complex insights into business decisions and elevate capital management.

This role leads pricing governance, valuation, and reporting, and builds a high-performing actuarial team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of life insurance actuarial experience with leadership responsibility.
• FSA credential is required.
• Strong strategic thinker with business acumen and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Individual Life Division's financial and strategic plans with leadership.
• Provide financial insight to drive profitable growth and capital efficiency.
• Lead forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
• Oversee actuarial valuation and financial reporting for regulatory compliance.
• Oversee product pricing and pricing governance for Individual Life.
• Build and mentor a high-performing actuarial organization.
• Drive modernization of actuarial processes and technologies.
• Advance innovation and industry leadership within Symetra.
