Job summary

Ballston Spa National Bank (BSNB) seeks a strategic Senior Vice President, Human Resources to partner with the executive team and guide HR across compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, talent acquisition and regulatory compliance. You will lead a team, shape people strategy, and influence engagement, staff development, and cost-effective benefits programs.

• 10+ years of progressive experience in human resources with senior leadership responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, HR operations, compensation and benefits administration, talent management, and employee relations
• HR experience in financial services preferred
• SHRM-SCP or equivalent certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Human Resources team at BSNB
• Oversee compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, talent acquisition, and regulatory compliance
• Drive department and organizational outcomes across lines of business
• Oversee self-insured captive medical insurance; monitor claims and cost-reduction strategies
• Review compensation structure annually and recommend adjustments
• Oversee training and development programs
• Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR concerns
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
• Ensure adherence to regulatory expectations and internal policies
• Participate in Senior Leadership meetings across business lines

Ballston Spa National Bank (BSNB) is seeking a strategic leader to guide the organization, its culture, and colleagues through growth as the Senior Vice President, Human Resources. This position is a key member of the management team at BSNB.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE SVP, HUMAN RESOURCES

As SVP, Human Resources, you will act as a strategic business partner to lead the Bank's human resources function, overseeing a team responsible for compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, talent acquisition, and regulatory compliance, while supporting a culture focused on engagement and staff development. Key responsibilities include:

• Work across all lines of business to help drive department and organizational outcomes
• Lead and develop the Human Resources team at BSNB
• Balance day-to-day management with strategic analysis and review of Human Resources initiatives
• Oversee the BSNB self-insured captive medical insurance, monitoring claims data, and implementing strategies to reduce costs for BSNB and employees
• Monitor BSNB's overall benefit offering to maintain competitive advantage
• Review compensation structure at least annually and provide recommendations for adjustments as appropriate
• Oversee the bank's training and development program
• Provide guidance to employees and managers to resolve employee relation concerns
• Develop and implement Human Resources policies and procedures
• Ensuring adherence to regulatory expectations and internal policies
• Actively participate in Senior Leadership meetings, contributing in a thoughtful way across business lines.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in human resources, including senior leadership responsibilities and demonstrated success in recommending and implementing strategic initiatives. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, human resources operations, compensation and benefits administration, talent management, and employee relations required. Human Resources experience in the financial services industry preferred. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related field required, Master's degree preferred. SHRM-SCP or equivalent certification preferred.
