Job summary

Edelman Smithfield is seeking a Senior Vice President to lead accounts, teams, and projects for a diverse portfolio of capital markets clients, including private equity and hedge funds, traditional asset managers, and other institutional investors.

The role encompasses executive positioning and reputation management, media relations, crisis and issues management, thought leadership development, regulatory matters, transaction communications, and strategic support for portfolio companies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in political science, business, journalism, public policy, communications, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in financial communications.
• Experience advising senior executives on communications in capital markets.
• Agency experience preferred.
• Strong media relations with top-tier relationships.
• Experience leading new business development and pitches.
• Mentoring and developing junior talent.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Proactive leadership with client vision.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert financial communications and capital markets advice to clients.
• Act as the primary client relationship manager with C-suite executives.
• Lead business development and pitches for new services.
• Drive marketing and thought leadership initiatives to elevate the practice.
• Oversee multiple complex projects from concept to completion.
• Ensure quality, performance, timelines and budgets across accounts.
• Develop staffing plans, budgets, and scopes of work.
