A global media agency is seeking a Senior Vice President, Client Solutions & Planning in New York. This role requires over 15 years of experience in strategic media planning and leading large client relationships. You'll be responsible for driving integrated solutions across various media platforms to enhance client value. The position offers a salary range of $197,000-$263,000, along with comprehensive data-driven marketing and team leadership responsibilities.
As Senior Vice President, Client Solutions & Planning, you are the strategic architect and accountable business lead powering one of dentsu’s largest media client partnerships in the US. You are responsible for delivering transformative media solutions, serving as a trusted advisor for C‑suite clients, and orchestrating sustained business growth. You serve as the lead developer of integrated strategies and high‑performing teams. You push teams and partners to go beyond the status quo and deliver innovative solutions that leverage the power of dentsu’s solutions to produce measurable business impact. This role can be remote, though preferred locations would be New York, Chicago or Atlanta.
In this role you must demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of all aspects of your client’s business as well as the overall media landscape, from traditional and digital media planning and activation, to sponsorships and custom integrations, to the data and technology needs of data‑driven, modern media.
Serve as the ultimate client and strategic leader for one of dentsu’s largest accounts, acting as the primary liaison with, and trusted advisor to, senior‑most client leadership
Build and drive integrated solutions across dentsu capabilities (media and beyond) to maximize client impact and value and drive growth for the agency
Champion and understand client’s business and industry inside and out, and use that understanding to reframe client challenges into strategic media direction and opportunities that create a competitive advantage
Create and maintain a high‑functioning, high‑performing team that attracts top talent by demonstrating a culture of accountability, client centricity, compassion, and excellence
Build collaborative and trusted relationships in matrixed environments with a diverse array of internal and external partners, maintaining a strong pulse on dynamics to identify risks and opportunities early and action against them
Lead the P&L, including making sound commercial decisions without oversight, leading contract development and negotiations, and overseeing and optimizing staff plans
Lead operational excellence across all functions, with a strategic lens on needs and solutions across people, process, and technology, including AI, to maximize operational effectiveness, internal and external collaboration, and overall ways of working
Solve the tough problems and have the hard conversations – both internal and with clients
Accurately represent the client’s point of view when reviewing work, leveraging this perspective and strong communication skills to foster clear, compelling, and persuasive storytelling and presentations to clients
Manage and mentor Director to VP‑level team members, including active coaching and career development
Hold teams accountable to dentsu’s principles and standards, and connect viewpoints of executive management and agency vision with the practical realities of the account’s day‑to‑day operations
15+ years of experience in relevant areas such as leading large‑scale, complex regional or global client relationships, strategic media planning, and/or communications strategy
Meaningful retail experience, with proven ability to move at the speed of retail, understand omnichannel shopping behaviors and strategies, and use the rich customer data retail provides to power effective strategies
Deep knowledge and experience with multiple communication channels and their role in marketing, including both traditional and digital media channels and both national and local media
Deep knowledge and experience using data, technology, identity, and advanced measurement solutions to deliver data‑driven, high‑performing integrated marketing plans
Demonstrates mental agility to keep pace with fast speed of business – priorities change often and flexing beyond core competencies is expected
Proven ability to think strategically, with a balanced analytical and creative approach, and the ability to teach others to think strategically and solve complex problems
Proactive and effective storyteller and collaborator, with ability to persuade and bring together and positively influence diverse groups of team members and clients to achieve desired outcomes
Dynamic presence in presentations and communications
Proven ability to lead change in complex organizations and implement new operating models spanning across multiple marketing disciplines and/or markets
Strong commercial and strategic acumen, with a track record of delivering business impact
Proven leadership ability – experience managing, motivating, and developing large teams, including setting an inspirational and clear vision, and setting clear goals and career roadmaps that help employees achieve goals and grow

The annual salary range for this position is $197,000-$263,000. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.

Dentsu may designate other Hub offices at any time. Those who live outside a commutable range may be designated as remote, depending on the role and business needs.
