Job summary

Liberty Area Transportation is seeking a part-time bus attendant/driver for the Liberty Area route (11:30am–1:30pm, Mondays). Responsibilities include pre/post trip inspections, learning routes, supervising students, and maintaining safety protocols. Strong communication with students, parents, and staff is required.

Qualifications

• Able to sit for long periods
• Able to tolerate ill children and clean up after sickness
• Good communication with students, parents, staff and school officials

Responsibilities

• Perform pre/post trip inspections
• Learn route, including pick up and drop off locations
• Safely use fire extinguisher
• Assist and supervise students with disabilities
• Communicate with students, parents, school officials and supervisors
• Mop and clean inside and outside the vehicle
• Complete proper paperwork
• Work overtime as needed
• Walk from the operator’s seat to the rear of the bus
• Open all emergency exits
• Install snow chains on a bus
• Raise the hood of a conventional school bus and check oil levels and antifreeze levels
• Remove obstructions from windshield and under wiper blades
• Posted work schedules subject to adjustment to meet transportation needs of Students
• All times listed are approximate
• The bus number identifies equipment and is subject to change as needed
• Any transportation personnel not assigned duties five days a week will be expected to report to the Transportation Department for assignments on those days

• Communicate with students, parents, school officials and supervisors

• Complete proper paperwork
