Job summary

Sixty Vines Nashville is seeking a Barback to support bartenders and servers in a high-volume, wine- and keg-focused setting. You will keep the bar stocked, clean, and organized while helping maintain inventory and keg systems.

This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and proactive service; you will assist with receiving deliveries, restocking supplies, and ensuring drink stations run smoothly during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, barback, bartender, or beverage experience preferred.
• Experience with kegged wine and draft systems is a plus.
• Basic wine knowledge and safe handling of heavy beverage items is preferred.
• Ability to stand and move quickly in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Support bartenders throughout service by keeping the bar fully stocked, clean, and organized.
• Restock wine, beer, spirits, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other beverage supplies.
• Assist with wine keg and draft wine systems, including monitoring keg levels and replacing kegs as needed.
• Properly connect, disconnect, and handle kegs and draft lines according to restaurant procedures.
• Monitor draft wine and beer systems for low kegs, leaks, pressure issues, or other concerns and communicate issues to management.
• Transport and safely store wine kegs, beer kegs, wine bottles, cases, and other beverage products.

Description

Position Summary

The Barback is an essential member of the beverage team, supporting bartenders and servers to ensure the bar operates efficiently, safely, and consistently throughout service. In a high-volume, wine- and keg-focused restaurant, the Barback is responsible for maintaining beverage inventory, changing and monitoring kegs, restocking wine and bar supplies, keeping work areas clean and organized, and anticipating the needs of the bar team.

• Support bartenders throughout service by keeping the bar fully stocked, clean, and organized.
• Restock wine, beer, spirits, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other beverage supplies.
• Assist with wine keg and draft wine systems , including monitoring keg levels and replacing kegs as needed.
• Properly connect, disconnect, and handle kegs and draft lines according to restaurant procedures.
• Monitor draft wine and beer systems for low kegs, leaks, pressure issues, or other concerns and communicate issues to management.
• Transport and safely store wine kegs, beer kegs, wine bottles, cases, and other beverage products.
• Maintain an organized beverage storage area, walk-in, wine cellar, and keg storage area.
• Assist with receiving and putting away beverage deliveries, ensuring products are stored properly.
• Keep bar wells, speed racks, shelves, coolers, draft systems, and surrounding areas clean and sanitary.
• Polish and stock glassware throughout service.
• Maintain adequate ice levels and replenish ice as needed.
• Assist bartenders with opening and closing side work.
• Clear empty bottles, cans, boxes, and other beverage-related waste throughout the shift.
• Communicate low inventory and equipment concerns to bartenders and management.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and workplace safety procedures.
• Work efficiently during high-volume periods while maintaining attention to detail.
• Provide friendly, professional support to bartenders, servers, and the entire restaurant team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, barback, bartender, or beverage experience preferred.
• Experience with kegged wine, draft beer, or beverage dispensing systems is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of wine and beverage service is preferred.
• Ability to safely lift and move kegs, cases of wine, and other heavy items.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and move quickly in a busy restaurant environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the beverage team and take initiative without being asked.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must meet all applicable legal requirements for alcohol service.
