Job summary

Suzuki Association of The Americas Inc. seeks an enthusiastic string teacher to join our Early Childhood Music faculty on the UWS of New York. Classes introduce strings and piano to ages 2-5 through playful activities, with a focus on the Suzuki approach. Availability on Saturday mornings and/or Friday afternoons is a plus.

Duties include connecting with families, leading multi-activity sessions, and promoting instrument play with proper setup. Beginning salary is $60/hour.

Qualifications

• Violinist, violist, or cellist with Suzuki background or teaching experience.
• Experience with very young children and parent involvement recommended.
• Suzuki Book 1 training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead classes with singing, movement, live music, and instrument play.
• Engage children and parents; help with instrument setup.
• Create a nurturing learning environment on Saturdays and Fridays.
