Job summary

Wolfspeed in Durham, NC is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer to join our Global Operations team and drive world-class manufacturing performance in our high-volume Materials factory. You will own CMP and wafer grinding processes for Silicon Carbide wafers, collaborating with Production, Equipment Engineering, Quality, and Operations to resolve issues and prioritize daily production.

The role emphasizes process optimization, data-driven problem solving using SPC, DOE, and leading

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
Experience with SPC / DOE and data analysis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to provide occasional off-hours support.

Responsibilities

Own and support CMP and wafer grinding processes for SiC wafer manufacturing.
Partner with Production, Equipment Engineering, Quality and Operations to resolve issues and prioritize production.
Investigate process excursions and equipment issues using structured problem-solving.
Drive continuous improvement to improve capability, yield, throughput, and cost.
Analyze data using SPC and other analysis techniques to identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement process changes with compliance to safety and quality.
